Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Balal Lama (ranked 2073 p4p, 1782 weight class) and Max Radar (ranked 259 p4p, 223 weight class). Balal Lama could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Max Radar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Radar! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lama misses with a wild combination.

Lama shoots in but Radar avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've been hearing reports that Lama has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lama. Lama takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Lama closes this distance looking for a takedown but Radar circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balal Lama. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lama looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Radar tries a quick counter leg kick but Lama is wise to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Radar throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lama fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Radar looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Balal Lama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lama will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Radar swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Radar looks to land a combination. Lama sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Lama staying out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lama moves out of range as Radar strikes. Lama is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Lama tries a low kick but Radar avoids it. Radar digs a good body shot into Lama's ribs. Radar connects with a leg kick. Lama shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lama showed some decent athleticism there. Lama trying to control from half guard but Radar is working away. Lama trying to pass the guard but Radar defending well. Radar is not content to let Lama control the position. Lama wants to free his trapped foot but Radar is holding on for dear life with his legs. Radar tries to roll over but Lama keeps him under control. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Lama wants to control but Radar is keeping him busy.

Radar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lama is pushing down on Radar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Radar is fighting to maintain full guard but Lama has managed to sneak the leg through. Lama is keen to just control but Radar is a slippery customer. Lama scoring with strikes to the body and head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lama throwing shots but Radar is blocking nicely. Radar moves into full guard.
Radar pulls Lama in close to prevent any damage. Lama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Radar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Radar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lama is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Radar has control of Lama's left arm, preventing Lama from doing any damage. Radar tries to land a sweep but no joy. Radar is adopting a defensive guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Radar keeping moving, preventing Lama from controlling successfully. Lama won't allow Radar to sweep him here. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Radar lands a right hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lama connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Max Radar has been cut. Danga de danga de dang - Radar scores with a four punch combination! A chopping leg kick lands by Radar. Radar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lama. Lama jabbing away but nothing is landing. Radar misses with an uppercut. A shot to the liver by Radar. Beautiful body shot. A bone on bone clash there as Radar blocks the leg kick.
Radar rushes Lama and presses him up against the cage. Radar lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lama backwards. Lama has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Radar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Radar is pressed up against the cage. Lama has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Radar down to the mat. Radar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Max Radar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Radar connects with a body shot that sends Lama's belly button to the back. Lama throws an overhand right that lands on Radar's shoulder, as Radar tries to avoid the shot. Radar wants to clinch up but Lama keeps it at a distance. Lama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Radar.
Radar lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Radar tries to sprawl but Lama drives through with a takedown into half guard. Radar is trying is best to control the position here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Max Radar dominated that round. The cut man is working on Max Radar's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Nice shot lands for Radar. Horrible takedown attempt by Lama or perhaps it was just good defense by Radar, which made it look bad. Radar throws out a counter right but Lama avoids it with no problem. Balal Lama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Radar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lama throws out the jab. Lama punishes Radar's body with a nice straight punch. Radar ducks under a wild hook from Lama. Radar lands with an overhand left. Radar lunges at Lama with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lama's hand. Lama tries for a takedown but Radar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Radar. Lama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Radar.
Radar tries to counter by closing the distance. Lama has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lama there as he acknowledges the shot. Lama finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Radar lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Radar has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lama misses with a straight left. Lama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Radar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Radar is trying to control Lama's posture but Lama avoids it. Lama wants to control but Radar is keeping him busy. Lama tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lama in side control, throwing shots but Radar defends. Radar wants to control but Lama postures up. Lama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Radar keeps working. Radar is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Sloppy strikes there by Lama. Lama trying to control the position but Radar is working away. Balal Lama overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lama is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Radar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That has opened up Max Radar's cut even more. Lama looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Lama avoids the attempt from Radar to control. Lama trying to control but he's not successful this time. Radar tries to hold on but Lama pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lama controlling from mount. Lama trying to control but Radar is having none of it. Lama avoids the attempt from Radar to control. Lama fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The cut above Max Radar's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Lama tries to control but Radar wriggling away. Radar is wriggling around trying to escape.
Radar doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lama controlling from mount. Balal Lama has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Radar is squirming around, avoiding Lama's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Balal Lama showed his dominance in that final round. I think Radar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
