Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phol Boxaaja (ranked 2623 p4p, 24485 weight class) and Bishop Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bishop Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxaaja dodges the punch combination from Alexander.
Boxaaja looks for a takedown but Alexander sprawls well.

Boxaaja decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Alexander moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Alexander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alexander wants to control but Boxaaja is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Boxaaja is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alexander is trying to maintain the position but Boxaaja is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Boxaaja throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alexander was covering up waiting for the punch and Boxaaja finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Alexander is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boxaaja looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Alexander has picked Boxaaja up and slammed him! Boxaaja can't keep hold of the triangle and Alexander manages to pass to side control!
Boxaaja is trying to control Alexander's posture but Alexander avoids it.
Boxaaja is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Alexander off and has taken his back!
Alexander is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Boxaaja off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Boxaaja seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Alexander's chin but Alexander turns very nicely into Boxaaja's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Alexander.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boxaaja is on top in guard.


Boxaaja thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alexander throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Boxaaja bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Boxaaja has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Alexander!
Boxaaja tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boxaaja manages to capitalize on a mistake by Alexander to take his back!

Boxaaja has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Alexander is defending well but eventually Boxaaja manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Alexander has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
