Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micko Lopata (ranked 4376 p4p, 4395 weight class) and Kojo Kusiwaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Micko Lopata! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kojo Kusiwaa ! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kusiwaa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lopata is looking to regain half guard here but Kusiwaa keeps moving and retains side control. Lopata is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kusiwaa has just dragged him back down to the mat. Kusiwaa working the body and head with strikes. Kusiwaa controlling from side mount. Kusiwaa postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kusiwaa stands up. Kusiwaa gets a double leg takedown into Lopata's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopata tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kusiwaa pushes down on Lopata's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lopata wants to control but Kusiwaa passes into side.
Lopata tries to bench press Kusiwaa off him but Kusiwaa keeps the position. Kusiwaa has control of an arm but Lopata manages to advance to Kusiwaa 's back! Lopata trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Kusiwaa covering up well and avoiding damage. Kusiwaa turns into Lopata and is now in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kusiwaa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kusiwaa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lopata is trying to escape the position but Kusiwaa is controlling the position. Kusiwaa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lopata is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kusiwaa is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lopata is desperately trying to improve his position but Kusiwaa has a good base and remains in mount. Lopata is trying to reverse the position but instead Kusiwaa has taken his back - oops! Kusiwaa looking for the RNC. Kusiwaa has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Lopata is in real trouble here. Kusiwaa gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Lopata is tapping out! Kusiwaa wins by rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kojo Kusiwaa !
