The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kakko swats away the attempt to clinch by Shoji.
Shoji closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kakko circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Kakko as Shoji shoots in.
Shoji tries for a takedown but Kakko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshihiro Shoji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shoji tries to clinch but Kakko is having none of it.
Shoji looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shoji tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kakko swivels and escapes.

Kakko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Shoji is breathing heavily.

Kakko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shoji manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kakko's best efforts.

Kakko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kakko works his way into full mount!

Kakko wants to finish this one by submission but Shoji is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kakko.

Kakko has isolated one of Shoji's arms. Shoji looking to fight him off but Kakko twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
