PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robert Johnson (ranked 3924 p4p, 1149 weight class) and Lorenz Blackwater (ranked 462 p4p, 155 weight class). Blackwater comes into a darkened arena with his song building. A$AP Rocky - Everyday kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Johnson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lorenz Blackwater!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackwater clobbers Johnson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Blackwater looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Blackwater lands a big shot that drops Johnson ! Can he finish him?

Johnson is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Blackwater avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Blackwater throwing strikes but missing.
Blackwater postures up.
Blackwater in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Johnson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blackwater trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Blackwater loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.
Blackwater stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson is trying to keep Blackwater in close.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blackwater can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Blackwater throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.
Blackwater keeps the fight on the outside.
Lorenz Blackwater is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blackwater moves into range and connects with a jab.
Blackwater lands a nice looking body shot.
Blackwater stuffs the takedown.
A right-left combo lands from Blackwater.
Blackwater cracks Johnson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Blackwater batters Johnson with a massive right followed by a huge left! Johnson is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Blackwater lands a final crushing right hand to drop Johnson to the mat with a gruesome thud! Blackwater is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

A less than humble Lorenz Blackwater misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
