Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pop Corn (ranked 4606 p4p, 791 weight class) and Mickey Contreras (ranked 0 p4p, 101 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pop Corn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mickey Contreras!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contreras lands a head shot.
Corn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Contreras looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Corn shoots for a double leg takedown but Contreras sprawls well. He's pushed Corn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Corn swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Contreras counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Contreras throws a body punch but Corn moves out of range.
Corn has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Contreras staying out of range there.
Contreras walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Corn drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Contreras swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Corn's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey Contreras!
