Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paavo Matinheimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Volta Polotski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volta Polotski struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matinheimo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Matinheimo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Polotski was well out of range. Poor timing from Matinheimo.
Polotski walks into a left hand.
Matinheimo throws a right hand that Polotski ducks under and follows up with a left that Polotski also avoids with ease.
Polotski slips a jab from Matinheimo.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Matinheimo checks a leg kick.
Matinheimo tries to clinch up.
Polotski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Matinheimo.
Polotski staying out of range there.
Polotski bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Matinheimo misses with a looping left.
Polotski doesn't manage to clinch there - Matinheimo circles away.

Matinheimo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Polotski can do anything to dispel that myth.
