Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Denardrick Montgomery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robbie Shakespeare! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shakespeare tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Montgomery was well out of range. Poor timing from Shakespeare. Shakespeare connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Montgomery momentarily.
It looks like Denardrick Montgomery has been cut. Montgomery tries to move into range but Shakespeare moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Shakespeare dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shakespeare cracks Montgomery with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Shakespeare has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Montgomery to stand back up!
Denardrick Montgomery's cut is getting worse. This has been an exciting period of action! Montgomery throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Montgomery throws a lazy uppercut
and Shakespeare counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Robbie Shakespeare! A relieved looking Robbie Shakespeare thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
