Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Shady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross comes into the arena with Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Red Shady! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shady walks into a straight right hand from Cross. Cross throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cross thows a left - swing and a miss! Cross looks to land a combination but Shady avoids it well. Some wild striking there from Cross.
David Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cross shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Cross looks to land a combination. Shady sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Shady needs to keep his hands up - Cross had a free shot at his head there. Shady throws a sloppy head kick and Cross moves out of range easily. Shady shoots for a double leg takedown but Cross sprawls well. He's pushed Shady's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Shady slips a jab and a cross from Cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shady on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Cross feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shady's calf. Cross connects with a jab.
It looks like Red Shady has been cut. Shady shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cross manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cross manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shady is looking to get to half guard. Shady is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Shady working to try and regain half guard.
Cross throwing strikes here but Shady is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Shady sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Cross is working for a submission of some sort.
Shady tries to get to full guard but Cross has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shady defending well though. Shady is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cross scores with a couple of nice shots. Shady looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shady trying to hold on to Cross's head to control him but Cross postures up.
Shady taking some punishment here, with Cross in his half guard. Cross thows a huge punch but Shady dodges it nicely.
Cross scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Shady flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shady makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shady. Cross avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cross postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Cross tries to free his leg and advance position but Shady is retaining full guard. Shady looking for a guillotine here but Cross defends easily.
Shady is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cross defends well. Shady looks gassed! Cross won't allow Shady to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Cross dominated that round. The cut man is working on Red Shady's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cross lands with a hook. Shady tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. David Cross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cross throws a body punch but Shady moves out of range. Cross swings for the body but Shady moves out of range.
Shady moves away from the strike by Cross. Shady uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cross. Shady needs to keep his hands up - Cross had a free shot at his head there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shady is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cross. Cross lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Shady is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Shady takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shady is still on wobbly legs! Can Cross finish him? Cross is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Cross throws a head kick but Shady moves out of range.
Shady seems to have recovered his senses. Cross lands with a nice body punch. Cross swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cross lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Shady sprawling to the canvas. Cross follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Shady hang on? Cross landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Shady manages to get to full guard.
Cross has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cross makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shady manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cross manages to get himself to full guard.
Shady is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cross looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shady is one step ahead there. Cross throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Shady throwing strikes but missing. Cross utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shady drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shady jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shady trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom. Shady passes easily into side control. Nice work. Shady is breathing heavily. Shady working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shady is trying to get an arm triangle but Cross is defending well. Cross is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shady off and has taken his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shady tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Cross scoring with strikes but Shady is staying in there. Shady tries to hold on but Cross postures up. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cross cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cross dominating with strikes here.
The cut above Red Shady's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Cross will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Shady is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Cross dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Red Shady's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Shady bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Cross scores with a jab. Cross plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Shady avoids the head kick by Cross.
Cross misses with a wild body shot. Shady avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Cross, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shady shoots in and bounces Cross off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross lands some strikes from the bottom. Shady trying to control the position from guard on top but Cross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cross wants to sweep but no luck. Shady trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom. Shady advances position into side control! Shady has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cross!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cross is looking to get to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shady is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cross can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shady has hold of Cross's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cross manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cross tries to hold on but Shady postures up. Shady wants to control the pace but Cross is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shady blocks Cross's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Shady throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Cross is desperately trying to improve his position but Shady has a good base and remains in mount. David Cross is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Red Shady has got the better of the ground game so far. Cross is working hard here to advance position. Shady goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Cross turns into him and now he's in Shady's guard.

Cross is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Shady tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cross wants to stand but Shady is controlling his posture from full guard. Shady working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cross doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cross manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Cross. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cross, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
