Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesse Thomas Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Carter!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Despite the aggression on Carter's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Carter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carter.

It looks like Jesse Thomas Babcock has been cut.
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Babcock.
Babcock tries to counter with a takedown but Carter is quick to defend against it.

Carter lands a left and a right that send Babcock crashing to the mat, dazed. Carter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Babcock is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Babcock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Babcock lands a right hook to the body.
Carter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Babcock throws out the jab.
Carter unleashes a big counter combination but Babcock bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Babcock seems to have got his legs back now.
Babcock tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it.
As Babcock backs off Carter throws a huge counter combo but Babcock manages to avoid it all.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Babcock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Babcock.

Carter throws a combination that misses

and Babcock counters with a takedown into side control.
Babcock scoring with punches and elbows.
Babcock trying to control the action but Carter is working from the bottom.
The ground and pound from Babcock seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Carter can't do much from the bottom here.
Carter gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Babcock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Babcock unloads with some shots from mount but Carter bucks and avoids them well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Babcock with shots to the head and body - Carter looks very uncomfortable down there.

It looks like Ian Carter has been cut.
Babcock trying to control but Carter is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by Babcock there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Babcock lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Carter hang on?

Babcock lands a big shot there that rocks Carter but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Babcock throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Carter because Babcock loaded up on that one.
Babcock connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That has opened up Ian Carter's cut even more.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Babcock misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
BOOM! Babcock connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The cut above Ian Carter's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ian Carter's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jesse Thomas Babcock!
During a confident post fight interview, Jesse Thomas Babcock thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
