The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fonzarelli shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fonzarelli showed some decent athleticism there.
Kortenhorst is pressing down on Fonzarelli's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kortenhorst has his foot on Fonzarelli's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fonzarelli works his way back into a safe position though.

Kortenhorst postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fonzarelli is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kortenhorst, into his guard.

Kortenhorst is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fonzarelli slows the pace down in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fonzarelli manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kortenhorst on his heels. He'll look to pass Kortenhorst's guard now, I'm sure.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kortenhorst maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fonzarelli could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kortenhorst has cracked it and Fonzarelli is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kortenhorst!
