And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 30 wins and 24 losses; Chan Siam!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Siam feints and as Archer raises his hands in defense, Siam changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Archer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Siam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer working a defensive guard but Siam manages to pass into side control anyway.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Archer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Siam is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've been hearing good reports from Archer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
