This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 47 wins and 28 losses; Koryu Miyagi! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 64 wins and 46 losses; Rolf Ottke!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Miyagi has managed to clinch.

Miyagi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ottke regains guard immediately.

Ottke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miyagi defends it easily.
Miyagi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ottke is keeping the position for now.
Miyagi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ottke has his hands on Miyagi's head, controlling the position.

Ottke lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ottke goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Miyagi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ottke but great work by Miyagi.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ottke wants to take a breather but Miyagi manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Ottke.

Miyagi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
