Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Knuckles (ranked 2755 p4p, 2717 weight class) and Chase McDormit (ranked 338 p4p, 334 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Rick Knuckles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chase McDormit! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knuckles throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McDormit connects with the punch. McDormit looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Knuckles takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rick Knuckles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knuckles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McDormit. McDormit scores with a jab. McDormit misses with a looping right. Knuckles tests McDormit's chin there with a solid looking shot. Knuckles gets in close and instigates a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by McDormit. Knuckles pushes McDormit back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. McDormit blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Knuckles doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Knuckles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning McDormit up against the cage. McDormit is trying to push Knuckles away but Knuckles has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knuckles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knuckles misses with a double jab
and McDormit counters with a nice body shot. Knuckles paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Knuckles avoids a punch combination nicely.
McDormit displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knuckles throws out the jab. McDormit unleashes a big counter combination but Knuckles bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Knuckles throws a lazy right hand but McDormit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. McDormit with a body punch. A glancing blow. Knuckles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Knuckles takes a swing at McDormit's ribcage but misses. Knuckles throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Some wild striking there from McDormit.
Knuckles tries to clinch up but McDormit circles away and keeps his distance. Knuckles cracks McDormit with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. McDormit pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Knuckles. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Knuckles. Knuckles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It looked like Knuckles wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big left from McDormit misses. Knuckles misses with a looping left. And an attempted straight right on the counter from McDormit! But no joy. Knuckles throws a jab when McDormit was well out of range. McDormit fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Knuckles manages to avoid it. McDormit misses the body punch and Knuckles counters with a lovely straight right hand! McDormit misses with a looping right. Knuckles clobbers McDormit with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nice uppercut lands for McDormit. That snapped Knuckles's head back.
Knuckles misses with an uppercut. McDormit saw that one coming. Knuckles throws a lazy right hand but McDormit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Knuckles tests McDormit's chin there with a solid looking shot. Knuckles clinches up against the cage. A short body shot lands from McDormit as the two fighters clinch.
Knuckles tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McDormit's elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knuckles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McDormit pushing out the jab but it's not landing. McDormit jabbing away but nothing is landing. Knuckles lands with an uppercut that bounces McDormit off the cage and back into range. Knuckles misses the body punch and McDormit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Knuckles is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Knuckles throws a body shot but no joy. McDormit throws a body shot but no joy. Knuckles throws a right hand that misses
and McDormit counters with a huge left! Knuckles is in big trouble! He's backing up but McDormit isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Knuckles from any more damage. A dominating finish by McDormit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chase McDormit! Chase McDormit took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Should we call an ambulance for Kaven? I don't think he is okay.'.
