Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Gyllenhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Carboza!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carboza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gyllenhall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Gyllenhall.
Gyllenhall throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gyllenhall takes the fight into the clinch.
Gyllenhall takes an elbow to the forehead.
Gyllenhall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carboza gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gyllenhall has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Carboza lands a knee to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gyllenhall turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Carboza is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gyllenhall connects with a decent elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carboza is trying to buck Gyllenhall off.
Gyllenhall lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gyllenhall cracks Carboza with a big elbow.
Gyllenhall lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carboza down.
Gyllenhall definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gyllenhall has hold of Carboza's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Carboza seems comfortable defending it but Gyllenhall has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Carboza is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Carboza is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gyllenhall couldn't care less - he's delighted!
