Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Ward (ranked 3091 p4p, 4384 weight class) and Hayden Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hayden Allen!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ward as he avoids it easily.
Ward fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Allen manages to avoid it.
Allen slips under a jab.
Allen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Allen tries for a takedown but Ward circles away easily
and Ward counters with a nice double leg into side control. Allen won't be happy with that.
William Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayden Allen.
Allen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ward wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Allen prevents Ward from moving into mount.

Allen is trying to get back to half guard.
Allen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ward lands an elbow.
Allen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Allen stops Ward from passing to mount.
Ward is putting a hurting on Allen here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ward scores with punches from side control.
Ward wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Allen, who protects the arm well.
Ward trying to control the action but Allen is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward grinds an elbow into Allen's temple.
Allen is rocked!
Allen looks winded!

Allen is still in real trouble! Can Ward finish him?
Ward cracks Allen with a big right hand but Allen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Allen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ward connects with a decent elbow.
A big shot lands for Ward! That's hurt Allen! Will he recover? Ward fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Ward!
