Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Cartier (ranked 3413 p4p, 2373 weight class) and Omari Morales (ranked 384 p4p, 276 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Omari Morales was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Omari Morales!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartier fails with the takedown
and Morales counters with a one-two to the body.
Cartier takes one on the button.
Morales stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cartier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Morales to counter with a crisp jab.

Morales has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at ubergym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Cartier wants to pass the guard but Morales is keeping the position.
Cartier throws a strike but Morales rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Morales stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cartier swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cartier is trying to control the position but Morales postures up.
Cartier looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morales is one step ahead there.
Cartier has control of Morales's left arm, preventing Morales from doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cartier throws his legs up looking for a submission but Morales uses it to pass to side control.
Cartier might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Morales wants to control but Cartier is keeping him busy.
Morales tries to stand but Cartier is controlling his head.

Morales decides to stand back up.
Morales throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cartier on the side of the head.
Cartier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Morales to score with a decent uppercut.
Cartier shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Morales as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Cartier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cartier looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cartier doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Morales counters with a big right hand! Oh Cartier is in trouble here! Morales follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
