Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Makarov. No joy for Pizza on that attempt.
Donimoes Pizza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Makarov closes the distance and clinches.

Makarov jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pizza wants to control from the top but Makarov keeps moving.

Pizza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Makarov throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Pizza postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Makarov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pizza, into his guard.

Makarov stands and throws Pizza's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makarov cracks Pizza with a big elbow.
Makarov is working Pizza over with some ground and pound from side control.

Makarov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pizza is looking to reverse the position.

Makarov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pizza, who protects the arm well.

Makarov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Pizza is trying to escape and Makarov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Pizza is forced to tap! Nice work there by Makarov! Very nice indeed!
