PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Pervitin (ranked 1843 p4p, 2554 weight class) and Chris Jarvis (ranked 218 p4p, 303 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chris Jarvis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mr Pervitin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jarvis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarvis ducks under a wild hook from Pervitin.
Pervitin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pervitin tries a head kick but it misses.
Pervitin slips a straight right by Jarvis.
Pervitin fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jarvis just manages to avoid it.
Pervitin misses with an uppercut.
An inside leg kick lands from Pervitin.

Jarvis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pervitin scores with a shoulder strike.

Pervitin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jarvis walks into a jab.
Jarvis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pervitin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jarvis moves into the clinch successfully.
Pervitin tries to work over Jarvis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Pervitin gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jarvis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pervitin.
Pervitin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Jarvis is defending against the submission attempts here by Pervitin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pervitin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Pervitin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Pervitin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jarvis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pervitin lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Jarvis quite badly. Jarvis pulls Pervitin in close trying to recover. Pervitin postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Jarvis on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Jarvis doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mr Pervitin!
