The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Fairisles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A little feinted left hand from La Croix on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
La Croix lands an overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round.
La Croix lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
La Croix lands a big uppercut and Fairisles crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Fairisles looks OK. La Croix waves Fairisles back to his feet!
Fairisles is rocked!
La Croix cracks Fairisles with a left hook right on the temple and Fairisles goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! La Croix lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Fairisles is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nero La Croix!
Miles Fairisles was interviewed post fight and said 'Great fighters get beat, great fighters come back. Great fighters beat other great fighters when they come back. The fact is, I'll be back.'.
