Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harald Kettner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Vij!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vij connects with a single shot there.
Kettner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Vij lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kettner on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kettner misses with a lunging right hand
and Vij connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vij has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kettner throws a right and a left that Vij avoids nicely.
Kettner takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Vij scores with a kick to the body.
Vij ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kettner throws a chopping leg kick but Vij manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kettner throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Vij counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vij lands with a cross.
It looks like Harald Kettner has been cut.
Vij lands an overhand right.
Kettner is breathing heavily.
Vij pushes Kettner away with a front kick.
Kettner walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Vij! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexander Vij!
A relieved looking Alexander Vij thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
