PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dud Sprocket (ranked 4802 p4p, 5956 weight class) and Ilgonis Bahs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dud Sprocket !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ilgonis Bahs!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bahs tries to clinch up.
Sprocket throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bahs counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bahs throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Bahs fails with a takedown attempt.
Sprocket has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice sprawl there from Sprocket as Bahs shoots in.
Bahs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Sprocket throws a nice looking combination but Bahs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bahs has Sprocket up against the cage in a clinch.
Bahs wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sprocket has him pressed against the cage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bahs has eaten all the pies!
Sprocket working hard to break the clinch.
Sprocket keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bahs's efforts to push away.
Bahs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sprocket pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dud Sprocket has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilgonis Bahs.
Bahs tries to score a body lock takedown but Sprocket shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Bahs is trying to break the clinch but Sprocket is controlling him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bahs looking to stall.
Bahs tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Still in the clinch, Sprocket scores with a nice short uppercut.
Bahs is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sprocket is keeping busy.
Bahs fails to pull guard.
Sprocket prevents the takedown attempt.

Sprocket prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bahs has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sprocket avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sprocket will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bahs up against the cage.
Sprocket wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bahs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sprocket pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sprocket closes the distance and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sprocket keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bahs's efforts to push away.
Bahs is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sprocket is keeping busy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dud Sprocket will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Sprocket looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Bahs was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Bahs drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sprocket wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sprocket throws Bahs to one side and escapes!
Sprocket stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sprocket wants it to stay on the feet.

Sprocket keeps the fight on the outside.
Ilgonis Bahs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bahs misses with a takedown attempt - Sprocket sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bahs fails to land the takedown.
Dud Sprocket has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilgonis Bahs.
Bahs is breathing heavily.
Bahs throws a nice looking combination but Sprocket bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sprocket appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Sprocket clinches up with Bahs and pushes him back against the cage.
Sprocket lands a nice shot to the body.
Bahs jumps guard but Sprocket stands there with Bahs around his waist. Bahs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sprocket is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sprocket creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sprocket is pushing Bahs up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bahs looking for a takedown.
Bahs tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sprocket manages to break the clinch.

Sprocket lands a big right hand that sends Bahs crashing to the mat! Sprocket stays standing though and waves Bahs back to his feet!

It looks like Ilgonis Bahs has been cut.

Sprocket misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bahs.

Sprocket closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bahs can't find room to land a body shot as Sprocket controls the action.
Bahs tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sprocket leaning his opponent against the cage.
Sprocket has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sprocket prevents Bahs from breaking the clinch.
Sprocket is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Bahs drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bahs.

Sprocket breaks from the clinch.
Sprocket ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Sprocket lands a big right hand that sends Bahs crashing to the mat! Sprocket stays standing though and waves Bahs back to his feet!

Bahs is rocked!
Sprocket lands a jab to Bahs's midsection.
Bahs checks a leg kick nicely.
Bahs misses with a takedown
and Sprocket counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dud Sprocket dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Ilgonis Bahs's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Sprocket swings for the body but Bahs moves out of range.
Bahs feints the counter takedown.
Bahs tries to clinch
and Sprocket counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sprocket comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sprocket lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dud Sprocket !
