Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Escovedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richie Venner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escovedo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pantera " Fucking hostile". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alonso Escovedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richie Venner! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escovedo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Venner pinned against the cage. Venner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Escovedo. A left lands for Venner. Venner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Venner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Escovedo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alonso Escovedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Venner throws a leg kick but Escovedo sees it coming and checks it nicely. Venner wants to clinch. Escovedo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Venner did well to prevent Escovedo getting side control. Venner looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escovedo controlling the action here. Escovedo prevents Venner from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Venner wants to stand back up but Escovedo manages to pass into side control.
The strikes coming from Escovedo are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Venner is looking to clinch but Escovedo is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Escovedo has a takedown stuffed. Venner tries to clinch up. Venner lands with a straight right. Escovedo didn't see that one coming. Venner is looking to clinch. Venner waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Escovedo. Venner slaps away a takedown attempt from Escovedo, before circling back to the center of the mat. Venner fails in his attempt to clinch. Venner tries to clinch up but Escovedo circles away and keeps his distance. Escovedo misses with a looping left. Escovedo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Venner's guard. Escovedo won't allow Venner to get back to his feet. Escovedo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escovedo advances to half guard. Escovedo works his way into full mount! Escovedo is breathing heavily. Venner's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Escovedo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Venner is trying to stand up. Escovedo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Venner is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Venner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escovedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alonso Escovedo dominated that round. That's time! Escovedo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Escovedo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Escovedo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Escovedo trying to control the pace. Venner is trying to stand.
Escovedo stalling. Venner is trying to stand up here but Escovedo is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escovedo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Escovedo lands with a punch from half guard. Escovedo looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Escovedo passes the guard and advances to mount! Escovedo controlling from the full mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Venner squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Escovedo with shots to the head and body - Venner looks very uncomfortable down there. Venner is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Escovedo working for a submission but Venner is keeping him at bay. Escovedo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Escovedo controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escovedo won't let Venner get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Venner is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Escovedo controlling his opponent. Venner really wants to buck Escovedo off and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The referee warns Venner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Escovedo controlling from mount. Venner is trying to stand up. Escovedo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Venner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Venner trying desperately to get to his feet.

Alonso Escovedo dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Escovedo misses with a takedown attempt - Venner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A jab from Escovedo does it's job there. Escovedo with a body punch. A glancing blow. Escovedo fails with a takedown attempt. Escovedo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Alonso Escovedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Venner wants to clinch. Nice defenses there by Venner. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Venner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Escovedo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Venner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Escovedo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Venner lands with a nice combination. Escovedo backs away looking to recover. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Venner moves in looking to clinch but Escovedo pushes him off. Venner tries to clinch but Escovedo is having none of it. Escovedo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Venner as he avoids it easily. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Escovedo checks a leg kick. Venner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Venner lands with a cross. Escovedo checks a leg kick nicely. Richie Venner seems to be getting the better of the standup. Escovedo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Richie Venner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Venner throws a right hand that Escovedo ducks under and follows up with a left that Escovedo also avoids with ease. Venner throws a right and a left that Escovedo avoids nicely. Escovedo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Venner misses with a few strikes there.
Escovedo takes one on the button. Venner fails in his attempt to clinch. Venner throws a series of punches but Escovedo moves out of range. Venner moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Venner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Escovedo. Venner misses with a wild combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Venner turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Venner connects with a good right hand that stumbles Escovedo. Escovedo circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Venner fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Escovedo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Venner scores with a hook to the body. Escovedo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Venner fails with an attempt to clinch.
Venner misses with a series of wild punches.

Escovedo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Venner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Venner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Venner misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Venner misses with a two punch combination.
Escovedo shoots in and bounces Venner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Venner wants to stand but Escovedo is controlling the position. Escovedo wants to pass the guard but Venner is keeping the position. Escovedo trying to control but Venner is working from the bottom. Richie Venner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Venner wants to stand and escape but Escovedo is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Richie Venner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Escovedo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
