Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Carboza (ranked 25429 p4p, 4378 weight class) and Diego Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Carboza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Aldo! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo looking to score a takedown here. Carboza is defending well but Aldo drives through and ends up in Carboza's guard. Aldo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Aldo slips nicely into half guard. Aldo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Aldo working Carboza over with strikes. Carboza tries to kick Aldo off but Aldo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Aldo in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo slips a nice elbow through Carboza's hands, connecting with Carboza's forehead. Carboza taking some punishment here, with Aldo in his half guard. Still in half guard, Aldo seems content to control. Aldo decides to stand up. Carboza tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carboza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carboza wants it to stay on the feet. Luiz Carboza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carboza doesn't manage to clinch there - Aldo circles away.
Aldo keeps the fight on the outside. Aldo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carboza defends well and Aldo ends up having to push Carboza into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Aldo throws a head kick but Carboza moves out of range.

Aldo keeps the fight on the outside. Carboza tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it. Carboza moves into the clinch. Carboza lands an elbow just above Aldo 's eye.
It looks like Diego Aldo has been cut. Aldo gets control of Carboza's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aldo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Carboza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aldo is proving hard to escape from. Aldo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carboza's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carboza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carboza trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Aldo stands and throws Carboza's legs to the side, diving into side control. Aldo moves into full mount! Aldo looking to finish Carboza with some ground and pound. This is bad for Carboza!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aldo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Carboza looks a forlorn figure.
Aldo lands a big shot there that rocks Carboza but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Aldo controlling from the full mount. Aldo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Aldo lands a big elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Aldo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Diego Aldo's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Carboza tries to clinch up. Aldo shoots in and bounces Carboza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Carboza wants to get back to his feet but Aldo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Aldo landing with the ground and pound. Aldo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo is stalling in the full guard. Aldo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Carboza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aldo on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo is pushing down on Carboza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carboza is fighting to maintain full guard but Aldo has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aldo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Aldo slips a nice elbow through Carboza's hands, connecting with Carboza's forehead. Aldo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Carboza defend it? Aldo steps over the head and cranks it - Carboza is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Aldo!
