Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zab Allan (ranked 4596 p4p, 3521 weight class) and Hanji Momtun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zab Allan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zab Allan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hanji Momtun!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allan throws a body kick that misses

and Momtun counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Allan is trying to stand.
Allan has hold of Momtun's hands but Momtun slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Momtun really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Momtun trying to mount his opponent but Allan defends it.
Allan throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Momtun tries to pass to full mount but Allan defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allan tries to roll over but Momtun keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Momtun takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Allan is looking for a sweep. Momtun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Momtun wants to stand up but Allan is controlling the position.
Allan wants to control the action here but instead Momtun manages to pass to full mount!
Momtun pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Momtun jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Allan manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Momtun is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Allan has escaped the position, nice work there.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Allan is looking for a sweep.

Momtun is trying to get an arm triangle but Allan is defending well.
Allan tries to escape but Momtun is in control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Momtun feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Allan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Momtun is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Momtun drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Momtun shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Allan is trying to defend but Momtun finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Momtun connects with a nice short shot to Allan's temple.
Allan is looking for a sweep. Momtun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Allan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Momtun postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've been informed that Momtun has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Momtun wants to get up but he can't break Allan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Momtun with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Momtun is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Momtun got a little sloppy there for a moment and Allan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Momtun has managed to get both his arms back between Allan's legs - danger averted.

Allan shoots in and drives through. Momtun sprawls well.
Momtun has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Allan avoids the head kick by Momtun.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Allan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Momtun counters with a one-two to the body.
Allan tries to clinch but Momtun is having none of it.
Momtun is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Allan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Allan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zab Allan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Allan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Momtun to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Momtun content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Allan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Momtun asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Allan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Momtun circles away from the clinch attempt.
Allan shoots in but no luck this time.
Momtun unleashes a big counter combination but Allan bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Momtun is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Allan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Well Momtun has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
