This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Sauv Ignon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 26 losses; Bea Mason! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ignon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ignon gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mason regains guard.
Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ignon (2) vs (0) Mason Ignon trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ignon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mason swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ignon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mason wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Mason tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ignon has gone for a leg lock! Mason slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ignon's guard. Mason must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ignon is on top in guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ignon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ignon pushing down on Mason's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ignon trying to control from half guard but Mason is working away. We've been hearing good reports from Ignon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ignon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ignon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mason defends it well. Ignon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason is looking for a sweep. Ignon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ignon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mason does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ignon is working for a submission of some sort.
Mason is trying to maintain the position but Ignon is very close to passing his half guard. Ignon trying to mount his opponent but Mason defends it. Mason is looking to control Ignon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mason avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ignon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ignon is trying to control the action in half guard but Mason is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ignon controlling the action here. Mason wants to improve his position but Ignon is controlling well.
Ignon wants to free his trapped foot but Mason is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Mason tries to roll over but Ignon keeps him under control. Mason is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Ignon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mason! Mason fending off the submission attempt from Ignon. Ignon has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Mason is in real trouble here. Ignon gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Mason is tapping out! Ignon wins by rear naked choke!
