Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between McCauley Daugherty (ranked 24088 p4p, 3789 weight class) and Evan Wilson (ranked 625 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, McCauley Daugherty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evan Wilson! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson throws a head kick that Daugherty semi-blocks.
Daugherty throws a jab when Wilson was well out of range. Daugherty tries for a takedown but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Daugherty misses the jab. Daugherty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Daugherty looks to throw the jab but Wilson is out of range. Wilson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Wilson ducks under a wild hook from Daugherty. Daugherty lands with a good body shot. Daugherty shoots in and bounces Wilson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Daugherty sitting in guard here, content to control. Wilson can't keep his opponent in guard - Daugherty advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Wilson is looking to escape. Daugherty seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wilson looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Daugherty seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wilson for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daugherty continues to stall.

McCauley Daugherty dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Daugherty fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilson to the ground. Daugherty is now in Wilson's guard. Wilson being controlled here, momentarily. Daugherty stands and throws Wilson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Daugherty takes a little break here. Wilson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Further stalling from Daugherty. Daugherty stands up and we're back to a striking position. A jab from Daugherty does it's job there. Daugherty looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Evan Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wilson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Daugherty gets the takedown into side control. Wilson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Daugherty is controlling him well. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Daugherty decides to take the fight back to the feet. Wilson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Daugherty is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Daugherty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wilson tries to sprawl but Daugherty drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Daugherty is taking a breather. Wilson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Daugherty works his foot free and advances to mount. Daugherty controlling his opponent. Daugherty continues to hold on tight.

Daugherty won't let Wilson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Daugherty controlling from the full mount. Wilson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

McCauley Daugherty dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Daugherty bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A decent looking cross lands there for Daugherty. Wilson throws a sloppy head kick and Daugherty moves out of range easily. Daugherty dives in for a single leg takedown but Wilson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Daugherty lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Wilson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Daugherty slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Daugherty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wilson sprawls well initially but Daugherty persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Daugherty performing his best blanket impression for a moment. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Daugherty is stinking the place up with his stalling.

It looks like Evan Wilson has been cut. Daugherty shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wilson takes one on the button. Daugherty with a poor takedown and Wilson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Daugherty thinking. Daugherty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Daugherty is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around? Daugherty shoots in for a takedown but Wilson shows good takedown defense. McCauley Daugherty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wilson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A punch combination from Wilson misses. Wilson moves out of range of the strikes. Daugherty is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. A telegraphed right hand from Daugherty misses the target. McCauley Daugherty is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Daugherty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daugherty lands in his opponent's guard. McCauley Daugherty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Daugherty decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Wilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Daugherty punishes Wilson's body with a nice straight punch. Wilson misses with an uppercut. Daugherty saw that one coming. Daugherty connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Daugherty tries for a takedown but Wilson circles away easily and Wilson counters with a two punch combo. Wilson stuffs the takedown attempt from Daugherty. Daugherty gets slowly back to his feet. Daugherty ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Evan Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice shot by Daugherty. Daugherty cracks Wilson with an open hand slap. Daugherty shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Still in half guard, Daugherty seems content to control. Wilson is trying to stand back up but Daugherty is controlling him
