The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Vilmat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ngannou manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ngannou throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vilmat escapes and throws Ngannou's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Vilmat is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vilmat is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ngannou still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ngannou has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Ngannou is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Vilmat manages to get back to half guard.
Ngannou is keen to just control but Vilmat is a slippery customer.

Vilmat is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Vilmat just trying to survive but Ngannou is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Ngannou is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Vilmat has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Ngannou has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Vilmat taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Ngannou doesn't care though - he's delighted!
