PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bone Breaker (ranked 863 p4p, 1221 weight class) and Linkavitch Chomofsky (ranked 114 p4p, 159 weight class). Chomofsky is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mastodon - Sleeping Giant. Bone Breaker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bone Breaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Linkavitch Chomofsky!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Breaker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Chomofsky gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Chomofsky tries to roll over but Breaker keeps him under control.

Breaker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chomofsky sees it coming and defends easily.
Chomofsky moves into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chomofsky wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chomofsky is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Breaker is aware though and is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chomofsky wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Breaker is now in half guard.
Chomofsky moves into full guard.
Breaker is looking to pass into half guard but Chomofsky pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Chomofsky is in guard.

Chomofsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Breaker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Breaker looking for a guillotine here but Chomofsky defends easily.

Chomofsky throws a big right hand that misses.
Chomofsky is stalling in the full guard.

Breaker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chomofsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chomofsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chomofsky is pushing down on Breaker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Breaker is fighting to maintain full guard but Chomofsky has managed to sneak the leg through.
Chomofsky is keen to just control but Breaker is a slippery customer.

My spies in Gunner's School of Combat inform me that Chomofsky has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Chomofsky slips a nice elbow through Breaker's hands, connecting with Breaker's forehead.
Chomofsky stalling away here and it's allowed Breaker to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Breaker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chomofsky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Breaker throws his legs up looking for a submission but Chomofsky uses it to pass to side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Breaker is trying to improve his position.

Chomofsky wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Breaker, who protects the arm well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Linkavitch Chomofsky will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Chomofsky looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Breaker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chomofsky pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chomofsky is looking to take a break and control but Breaker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Chomofsky lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Chomofsky is nestled in close to Breaker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Breaker looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chomofsky drops an elbow to the side of Breaker's head.

Breaker is defending against the submission attempts here by Chomofsky.
Breaker is staying active underneath Chomofsky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chomofsky trying to mount his opponent but Breaker defends it.
Breaker is refusing to be controlled, as Chomofsky sits in half guard.
Chomofsky is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Breaker shoots in and gets a takedown into Chomofsky's guard.

Chomofsky is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Chomofsky is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Chomofsky is looking for a triangle but Breaker pushes his legs off easily.
Chomofsky has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Linkavitch Chomofsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Breaker throws a body shot but no joy.
Bone Breaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chomofsky misses the shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chomofsky. Breaker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Breaker throws a body punch but Chomofsky moves out of range.

Breaker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Breaker lands in his opponent's guard.

Breaker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chomofsky manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Breaker has Chomofsky in his guard.


Breaker has his foot on Chomofsky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chomofsky works his way back into a safe position though.

Chomofsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Breaker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chomofsky has managed to get both his arms back between Breaker's legs - danger averted.

Breaker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chomofsky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Breaker seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Breaker is posturing up here but Chomofsky has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Breaker tries to roll out but it's too tight and Breaker has to tap! Slick submission there by Chomofsky!

Linkavitch Chomofsky seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
