And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 29 wins and 39 losses; Billy Turturro!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Kersikov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Turturro sprawls well initially but Kersikov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Kersikov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The referee asks Kersikov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kersikov prefers to stall for the moment though.

A lull in the action here as Kersikov stalls from top position.
Turturro is not content to let Kersikov control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Turturro is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Turturro can't do much from the bottom here.
Kersikov controls the position.

Kersikov is taking a breather. Turturro says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Turturro is looking to improve his position but Kersikov isn't that keen on the idea.

Kersikov wants to take Turturro's back here but Turturro is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
