Shalit is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ottke to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ottke shrugs it off. Ottke is looking to get to half guard. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Shalit trying to control the position from guard on top but Ottke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shalit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ottke swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ottke has control of Shalit's left arm, preventing Shalit from doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ottke is on top in guard.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shalit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ottke is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! Shalit wins on points by 12 to 8. A relieved looking Elazar Shalit thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
