Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benny Darius (ranked 4939 p4p, 5364 weight class) and Derrick Ryker (ranked 477 p4p, 501 weight class). Darius comes to the cage accompanied by In the Shadows - The Rasmus. Derrick Ryker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Darius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derrick Ryker!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryker tries to clinch up
and Darius counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Darius stalks Ryker and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ryker's face. Ryker staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Derrick Ryker has been cut.
Darius changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Ryker 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ryker moves into the clinch.
Ryker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Darius smiles and moves away.

enabling Darius to counter with a crisp jab.
A chopping leg kick lands by Darius.
Derrick Ryker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ryker blocks a leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryker tries to clinch but Darius moves out of range.

Darius digs a good body shot into Ryker's ribs.
Darius connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Darius gets tackled into the cage by Ryker. Ryker maintains the clinch.
Ryker is trying to pull guard but Darius turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ryker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Darius just stands there and leans against the cage.
Benny Darius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Ryker.
Darius makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Darius lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ryker backwards.
Ryker jumps guard but Darius turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Darius breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Darius throws a wild body kick that Ryker sees coming a mile off.

Darius lands with a straight right. Ryker didn't see that one coming.
No joy there for Darius, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ryker wants to counter the offense by Darius and move into the clinch position.
Darius circles away from the clinch attempt
and Darius cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ryker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A decent looking cross lands there for Darius.
Darius throws a sloppy head kick and Ryker moves out of range easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Darius. That snapped Ryker's head back.
Darius ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryker takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Darius scores with a nice right hand.
Darius is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Darius throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ryker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Darius dips to his left and cracks Ryker with an uppercut!

The fight stays on the outside here - Ryker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ryker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Darius swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Darius counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Darius catches Ryker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ryker takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Darius lands a nice looking body shot.
Ryker is still on wobbly legs! Can Darius finish him?
Ryker darts in trying to clinch
and Darius counters with an inside leg kick.
Darius lands a lovely overhand right.
Darius drops Ryker with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ryker looks back up at him and smiles so Darius waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ryker wants to clinch.

Ryker tries to pull guard but Darius holds him up against the cage and eventually Ryker drops back down to his feet.
Darius pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ryker has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Darius.
Darius lands with a right hand.

and Darius makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Darius dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Darius lands a jab to the head.
Ryker has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Ryker closes the distance but Darius moves to the side
and Darius counters with a straight right hand.
A lazy left from Darius finds it's target.
Ryker fails in his attempt to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Darius cracks Ryker with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ryker tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Darius pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ryker is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benny Darius!
