Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Whitaker (ranked 3293 p4p, 3226 weight class) and David Jackson (ranked 384 p4p, 376 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Whitaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Jackson ! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson looks to clinch and Whitaker counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jackson tries to move into range but Whitaker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jackson is pressed up against the cage. Whitaker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Whitaker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jackson moves into the clinch successfully.
Jackson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Whitaker wants to take the fight to the mat but Jackson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Whitaker fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Whitaker. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson works on Whitaker's body with a couple of short punches. Whitaker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Whitaker missing with knees to the body.
Whitaker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Whitaker circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson closes the distance and pushes Whitaker back into the cage. Whitaker definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Whitaker wants to get back to striking at distance but Jackson won't allow it.
The referee calls for Whitaker to work.
Whitaker pulls guard. Jackson stands and steps away. Whitaker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Whitaker circles away from the clinch attempt and Whitaker counters with a nice uppercut. Jackson tries to clinch but Whitaker is having none of it. Jackson darts in trying to clinch and Whitaker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jackson looks to clinch enabling Whitaker to counter with a crisp jab.
Jackson is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitaker connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Jackson out cold! This one is over in a flash!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Whitaker!
