Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Carboza (ranked 25402 p4p, 19569 weight class) and Ray Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Carboza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray Johnson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carboza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Despite the aggression on Johnson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Carboza is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carboza down to the mat. Carboza avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Carboza tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it. Carboza tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carboza trying to land knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to pull guard but Carboza forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Carboza prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch. Carboza with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Ray Johnson has been cut. Johnson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Johnson looking for a takedown. Luiz Carboza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Johnson. Carboza tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.
Johnson jumps guard but Carboza stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carboza defends well. Carboza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carboza's guard. Carboza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carboza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.
Carboza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground. Johnson striking off his back but it's not causing Carboza any problems.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carboza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Johnson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Johnson throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson advances position into side control! Carboza is trying to buck Johnson off. Johnson tries for a kimura but Carboza is defending well. Johnson prevents Carboza from escaping the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee asks Johnson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Johnson prefers to stall for the moment though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ray Johnson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ray Johnson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carboza counters with a head kick. Carboza plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Nice body punch from Johnson. Johnson clinches up against the cage. Carboza scores with a knee to the head.
Johnson is rocked! Johnson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Carboza finish him? Johnson takes a knee to the side of the body. Carboza creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Johnson's defenses. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Carboza obliges. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson tries to pull guard but Carboza won't allow it.

Luiz Carboza has scored more points in the clinch so far. Carboza creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Johnson! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Carboza.
