And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 0 losses; Ispa Murhapuro! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Murhapuro rushes Muffin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Murhapuro told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Murhapuro jumps guard but Muffin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Muffin is trying to trip Murhapuro. He has hold of a leg but Murhapuro is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Muffin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Muffin (2) vs (0) Murhapuro Muffin trying to control but Murhapuro is working from the bottom. Murhapuro has Muffin pulled in close to control his posture. Muffin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Muffin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Muffin drops back looking for a leg! Murhapuro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murhapuro manages to kick Muffin off! Muffin jumps back into Murhapuro's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Murhapuro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Muffin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Muffin (5) vs (0) Murhapuro Muffin trying to control the position but Murhapuro is working away. Muffin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Muffin tries for a kimura but Murhapuro is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Muffin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Muffin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Murhapuro, who protects the arm well. Murhapuro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Muffin . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Muffin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Murhapuro is trying to escape and Muffin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Murhapuro is forced to tap! Nice work there by Muffin ! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mc Muffin ! Mc Muffin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |
