This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 48 wins and 28 losses; Koryu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Miyagi moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Miyagi has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Johnson is trying to keep an underhook but Miyagi manages to get the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Johnson (0) vs (2) Miyagi
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Miyagi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Johnson has his foot on Miyagi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miyagi works his way back into a safe position though.
