Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Lupsaka.
Griggs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lupsaka blocks a jab.
Lupsaka forces Griggs back against the cage and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lupsaka just misses with a elbow thrown towards Griggs's brow.
Lupsaka gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Lupsaka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Lupsaka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Griggs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lupsaka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Griggs wants to stand up but Lupsaka is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griggs can do anything to dispel that myth.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lupsaka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lupsaka lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Griggs manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Lupsaka goes for a takedown in the clinch but Griggs prevents it.

Griggs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lupsaka is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Griggs gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herio Lupsaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lupsaka gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Griggs manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Griggs cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Griggs cracks Lupsaka with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Griggs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lupsaka.

and Griggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of Lupsaka 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Griggs uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Lupsaka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Griggs lands a right hook to the body.
Griggs throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lupsaka on the side of the head.
Lupsaka is rocked!
Griggs shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Lupsaka takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Griggs sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Lupsaka bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vinny Griggs!
A relieved looking Vinny Griggs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
