Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvador Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Bunyons!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez lands a body shot.
Bunyons shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jimenez, as that shot connected.
Bunyons takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jimenez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bunyons was well out of range. Poor timing from Jimenez.
Jimenez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bunyons in his tracks.

Jimenez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bunyons has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jimenez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bunyons has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jimenez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bunyons is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jimenez is defending well.
Salvador Jimenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Bunyons.

Bunyons is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jimenez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bunyons to the mat. Bunyons regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jimenez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bunyons for as long as he can get away with.

Jimenez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And Bunyons tries to counter it with a takedown but Jimenez pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Jimenez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jimenez lands in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bunyons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jimenez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jimenez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jimenez lands in his opponent's guard.

Jimenez stands and steps away. Bunyons gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jimenez moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Paul Bunyons has been cut.

Jimenez is taking a breather. Bunyons says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jimenez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bunyons with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jimenez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
