Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Gonzalez Jr (ranked 5255 p4p, 5056 weight class) and Rogelio Rojas (ranked 476 p4p, 468 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Gonzalez Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogelio Rojas !
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Gonzalez Jr counters with a two punch combo.
Rojas shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez Jr shows good takedown defense.
Rojas misses with a takedown
and Gonzalez Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rojas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gonzalez Jr to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez Jr stays in close to Rojas 's body and controls the position.
Rojas wants to sweep here but Gonzalez Jr controlling him for the moment.
Gonzalez Jr gets to his feet. Rojas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rojas thows a leg kick but Gonzalez Jr checks it
and Gonzalez Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rojas won't be happy with that.
Gonzalez Jr tries to move to mount but Rojas blocks the move with his legs.

Rojas can't do much from the bottom here.
Gonzalez Jr wants to control but Rojas is keeping him busy.
Rojas manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gonzalez Jr's best efforts.
Rojas gets back to full guard.

Rojas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rojas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gonzalez Jr manages to get himself to full guard.
Rojas is looking to work some ground and pound but Gonzalez Jr has wrist control.
Rojas passes Gonzalez Jr's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rojas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzalez Jr has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Rojas escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Rojas !
Rojas stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Rojas fails with a takedown attempt.
Victor Gonzalez Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rogelio Rojas .
Rojas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rojas misses with a takedown
and Gonzalez Jr counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rojas is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Rojas wants to clinch.
Gonzalez Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rojas keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gonzalez Jr blocks the strikes from Rojas .
Gonzalez Jr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gonzalez Jr drops an elbow to the side of Rojas 's head.
Gonzalez Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rojas on the ground.
Gonzalez Jr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rojas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rojas wants to control but Gonzalez Jr is keeping busy.

Gonzalez Jr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rojas was covering up waiting for the punch and Gonzalez Jr finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rojas wants to get back to his feet but Gonzalez Jr is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Victor Gonzalez Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rojas is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gonzalez Jr rolls with it to try and escape but Rojas cranks on the arm and Gonzalez Jr is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
