Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spiffy Pippin (ranked 4389 p4p, 3072 weight class) and Ian Gary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pippin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gary goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pippin prevents it.

Pippin has clasped his hands together around Gary's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Pippin stands up and beckons Gary to his feet.
Gary tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Pippin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gary is trying to keep Pippin in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gary is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gary wants to stand up but Pippin is controlling him.

Gary has his foot on Pippin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pippin works his way back into a safe position though.

Pippin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gary for as long as he can get away with.
Gary looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gary is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pippin stands and steps away. Gary gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Pippin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Pippin misses with a double jab.

Pippin moves into full mount!

Pippin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gary is surviving well by controlling Pippin's body position as best he can.

Gary is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pippin cracks Gary with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gary takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Pippin lands a heavy elbow.

Gary is rocked!
Pippin postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Gary out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Pippin goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
