The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab-cross combination lands for Martinez and sends Assis crashing to the mat! Martinez follows him down to the mat - Assis regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Assis is rocked!
It looks like Amadeo Assis has been cut.
Assis is looking to improve his position.
Oh Assis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Martinez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Assis is just riding it out for now. Martinez eventually gives up the hold.

Assis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Assis.
Martinez content to stall in guard here.
Assis seems to have got his legs back now.
Assis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Martinez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Martinez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Martinez stands and throws Assis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Assis wants to get back to full guard.
Martinez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Assis defends it well.
Assis is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Martinez is tapping! Great win for Assis!
