Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Hendricks (ranked 2625 p4p, 1622 weight class) and Richard James (ranked 311 p4p, 202 weight class). Hendricks's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cowboy - Kid Rock. Hunter Hendricks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Hendricks!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard James!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a right hand that misses
and Hendricks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hendricks fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches James on the side of the head.
James fails with the takedown
and Hendricks counters with a lovely straight right hand!
James lands with a right hand.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hendricks pinned against the cage. Hendricks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James throws a body punch but Hendricks moves out of range.
Hendricks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hendricks swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
That's one minute gone in the round.
James swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hendricks counters with an inside leg kick.
James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hendricks counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops James! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Hendricks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hunter Hendricks!
Hunter Hendricks is the new middleweight champion!
A relieved looking Hunter Hendricks thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
