The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doncic shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Doncic showed some decent athleticism there.
Doncic trying to pass the guard but Spooner defending well.
Doncic is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Spooner tries to kick Doncic off but Doncic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Doncic seems to be looking for submissions.
Doncic prevents Spooner from standing back up.
Spooner tries to kick Doncic off in order to stand up. Doncic Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Doncic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Spooner is trying to buck Doncic off.
Spooner is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Doncic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doncic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Spooner wants to get back to his feet but Doncic is dominant here and he's now got Spooner's back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Doncic lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Spooner is trying to defend against the choke here but Doncic has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Doncic Tightens the hold and Spooner taps out furiously! Doncic displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
