PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Scott (ranked 2646 p4p, 2272 weight class) and Robert Lee (ranked 398 p4p, 343 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, David Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Lee!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Scott wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.
Lee trying to control from half guard but Scott is working away.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.

Lee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Scott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lee.
Lee controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee.

Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Scott is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold.
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.
Scott is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Scott avoid being mounted?
Lee wants to free his trapped foot but Scott is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Lee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Scott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lee.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Scott works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Scott is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.

Scott is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.

Scott is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lee passes into half guard.
Lee works his way into side control.
Scott is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lee is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Scott will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Scott is looking to reverse the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lee working away.
Scott prevents Lee from improving position.

Lee tries for a kimura but Scott is defending well.
Scott is looking for a sweep.
Scott wants to control but Lee postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Scott can't do much from the bottom here.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Scott is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.
Scott is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lee is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Scott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though.

Scott has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Lee escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Lee!

Lee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Scott knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Scott can't do much from the bottom here.

Lee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Scott has escaped the position, nice work there.
Scott avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lee.

You can see the frustration on Scott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Scott sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Lee is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Scott as he works his way to full guard.
Lee is pushing down on Scott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scott is fighting to maintain full guard but Lee has managed to sneak the leg through.

Scott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lee defends it easily.
Robert Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lee throws a big elbow that misses.
Lee passes into half guard.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Scott wants to control but Lee passes into side.
Lee in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Scott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Scott shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Scott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Scott's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott is trying to control the position but Lee postures up.

Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Scott wants to control but Lee postures up.
Lee looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Scott is avoiding damage well.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lee misses with the ground and pound.
Scott tries to bench press Lee off him but Lee keeps the position.
Lee passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Scott!

Lee has control of Scott's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Scott regains control of the situation pretty easily.
David Scott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Scott tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lee is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Scott is in real trouble.

Lee looking for the choke but no joy.
Scott trying to control the hands but Lee won't let him.

Lee is looking for the choke from the back position but Scott is controlling his hands well.

Scott is trying to control the position but Lee manages to sink in the RNC - Scott is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Lee!
Robert Lee gave a mention to Furnace Performance 🔥 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
