Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timmy Dubs!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dubs fails to land the takedown.
Rivera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rivera's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rivera duly obliges.
Rivera scores with a kick to the midsection.
Rivera tests Dubs's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dubs takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rivera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dubs gets a double leg takedown into Rivera's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rivera being controlled here, momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dubs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dubs not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dubs stops Rivera from standing up.
Dubs trying to control but Rivera is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dubs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dubs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rivera wants to stand and escape but Dubs is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dubs stands up and waves to Rivera to follow him.
Rivera goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Rivera swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Dubs counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dubs.
Rivera is pressed up against the cage. Dubs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rivera down to the mat. Rivera avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dubs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rivera wants to stand back up but Dubs manages to pass into side control.
Rivera tries to escape but Dubs is in control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dubs is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rivera is trying to escape and Dubs transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rivera is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dubs! Very nice indeed!
