Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Dalton (ranked 2366 p4p, 2370 weight class) and Volodimir Borrisinov (ranked 163 p4p, 164 weight class). Volodimir Borrisinov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Dalton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Volodimir Borrisinov!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Dalton does it's job there.
Borrisinov shoots in but no luck this time.
Dalton appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Borrisinov's coach down at Combat Wombat Burrow was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Borrisinov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dalton misses with a body shot.
Dalton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Borrisinov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dalton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dalton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borrisinov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Borrisinov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dalton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Borrisinov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dalton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Borrisinov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like Borrisinov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Borrisinov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dalton's guard.

Borrisinov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Borrisinov postures up and lands a big shot to Dalton's brow.
Borrisinov looking to sit in guard and control but Dalton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Borrisinov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Borrisinov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dalton pinned against the cage. Dalton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Borrisinov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dalton's waist but Dalton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Borrisinov off to one side.
Borrisinov darts in looking for a takedown but Dalton gets double underhooks and turns Borrisinov into the cage.
James Dalton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Volodimir Borrisinov.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borrisinov shoots in looking for a takedown. Dalton tries to sprawl out of it but Borrisinov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dalton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Borrisinov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Borrisinov in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Dalton looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Borrisinov turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
