Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jules Ann (ranked 2574 p4p, 23354 weight class) and Helmut Stoppelbein (ranked 307 p4p, 648 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Ann - just one landing.
Stoppelbein fails with the takedown.
Stoppelbein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ann.
Ann misses with an uppercut.

and Ann counters with a leg kick.
Stoppelbein dives in and grabs Ann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ann pushes down on Stoppelbein's head and hops out.
Jules Ann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Helmut Stoppelbein.
Ann jabs Stoppelbein right on the nose. Stoppelbein blinks but takes it well.

We've been told by Ann's head coaches at 020 Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ann swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stoppelbein is defended easily by Ann.
It looked like Ann wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ann scores with a shot to the body.
Ann throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stoppelbein on the side of the head.

A very excited looking Jules Ann rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
