The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman lands a jab to the nose.
Zimmerman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ruiz is out of range and Zimmerman settles back down.
Zimmerman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Zimmerman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Zimmerman scores with a decent looking hook.
Zimmerman keeps the fight on the outside.
Zimmerman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Zimmerman. No joy for Ruiz on that attempt.
Ruiz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ruiz is rocked!
Zimmerman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Ruiz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ruiz tries to close the distance and clinch but Zimmerman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ruiz seems to have got his legs back now.
Ruiz tries for a takedown but Zimmerman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ruiz is breathing heavily.
Zimmerman misses the shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zimmerman drops Ruiz with a naaaaasty hook - Ruiz is in real trouble here! Zimmerman dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
