Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vicente Escalante!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Murilo Ninja!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ninja tries to close the distance and clinch but Escalante swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Escalante went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Escalante ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Escalante uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ninja.
Nice defenses there by Escalante.
Ninja stalks Escalante and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Escalante's face. Escalante staggers backwards, shaken.

Ninja is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Escalante's half guard.
Ninja is looking to take a break and control but Escalante is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Escalante regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ninja stays in close to Escalante's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ninja accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ninja dives in and grabs Escalante's left leg, looking for a takedown. Escalante pushes down on Ninja's head and hops out.
Escalante connects with a high kick.

Escalante has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ninja is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Ninja misses with a short punch on the inside.
Escalante blocks an uppercut.
Ninja can't get the takedown.
Vicente Escalante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Ninja.
Escalante tries a knee to the head but Ninja blocks it.

Escalante breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Escalante leaves Ninja with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ninja looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Escalante lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ninja lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Escalante lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Murilo Ninja has been cut.
Escalante lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ninja uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Escalante.

and Escalante counters with a nice right hand that sends Ninja toppling to the canvas! Ninja scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Escalante finish him?!

Ninja is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ninja walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Escalante swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
