PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colonel Chi (ranked 4300 p4p, 5855 weight class) and Sara Aalto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sara Aalto was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chi closes the distance but Aalto moves to the side
and Aalto counters with a solid body kick.
Aalto throws the kick towards the body but Chi avoids it.
Aalto fakes the leg kick and cracks Chi in the body.
Chi tries to close the distance and clinch but Aalto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aalto only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Aalto throws a head kick but Chi moves out of range.
Aalto lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Chi blocks a head kick by Aalto.
Aalto misses with a kick to the body.
Chi avoids the head kick by Aalto.
Chi tries to counter by clinching up but Aalto breaks away and moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chi digs a right hand underneath Aalto's ribcage. Aalto let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Aalto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Chi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Aalto's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Aalto pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Chi has a couple of punches blocked by Aalto.
Chi throws a punch but it's blocked by Aalto.

Chi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Aalto is defending well for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aalto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Chi unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Aalto! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Chi is unloading with more strikes now! Aalto drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
